Though I urged him to get some rest
I was the one who dozed off first
hypocritically sleeping
I woke the night before, the nightmare
still chasing its own tail, my heart
hypertensively shrieking
Now painting between two realms
the borderland blends and bleeds
hypnogogically streaking
Becoming a hothouse flower
absorbing pure liquid energy and light
hydroponically seeping
Now every star grows a comet’s tail
as I accelerate through space
hypersonically squeaking
Drifting again, imagining all
I may do if I get sleep enough
hypothetically speaking.
